1. Collection of Information

In order for Meetual to help you create genuine connections, we need to know some information about you. When you download the Meetual mobile application, we may collect information generated such as access logs, as well as information from third parties, like Facebook. Other data we collect about you are your name, and where you are from as stated on Facebook (NOT your location in real-time).


If you ‘Report a Problem’ via the Meetual app, we collect the information you provide us during the interaction. We may monitor this for training purposes. If you ask us to communicate with or process information of other people, we may collect the information about others that you give us. Finally, we process your chats with other users. You can only login via Facebook to create an account on Meetual.


Usage and Device Information

We will collect information about your activity on Meetual, such as the date and time you logged in, and how you communicate or contact other users, such as the number of messages exchanged between you.  Information about the device you use to access Meetual include hardware and software information such as IP address, version and language, OS, and time zones.


When you delete your account, all information will be erased, except information pertaining to Setups and introductory Setup messages.


2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use and allow others to use cookies to recognise you and/or your device. Our collection of cookies helps us learn how people interact with Meetual. We use this information in order to make sure Meetual users can have a smooth experience. If you would like to opt out of cookie storage, you can set your mobile settings to block cookies and local storage devices.


3. Use and Disclosure of information

Use of Information  

In order to continually improve Meetual, we may use your information to contact you about updates, personalise the app, conduct research and development about user interactions with the app, resolve issues between users, investigate criminal activities, and administer our Terms and Conditions.


Disclosure of Information

Here are the circumstances in which we may disclose your information:

  • If you consent, we may share information with a third party.

  • Certain third parties are service providers and moderators to whom we may share information in order to improve or maintain our services respectively.

  • We will work with relevant third parties to implement their intellectual property or other rights. If we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, court order, or legal request, we may disclose relevant information.

  • If Meetual, or its affiliates, undergoes a business transition such as a merger, we may be required to disclose your information.

  • Log data and personal data may be shared as aggregated information with third parties for industry analysis and demographic profiling.


To the best of our ability we will ensure the above parties must adhere to strict data protection. We will also ensure, to the best of our ability, that the shared information is as non-attributable as possible.


4. Your Visibility  

In order to use Meetual, you must login using your Facebook account. In doing so, you are authorising us to access some Facebook account information, including friends list and friends that you have in common with other Meetual users.


5. Your Rights

You retain the ability and right to delete your account by using the corresponding functionality directly on the service. You can also stop all information collection by Meetual by uninstalling it. By doing so, the unique identifier associated with your device will remain, allowing us to associate your mobile device with certain activities. If you are a resident of the European Union, you have a right to file a complaint with an appropriate data protection authority in order to report issues with how we deal with your information.


6. Information Retention   

We keep your personal information as long as permitted by law. We delete or anonymise your information after you delete your account unless it is kept for legal reasons (e.g. traffic data), if there’s an outstanding claim or issue, or if the information must be kept legitimate business purposes such as enhancing users’ safety (e.g. if a banned user wanted to create a new account). We cannot promise that all data will be deleted within a specified timeframe. Even after deleting an account, copies of information may still be viewable and/or accessed. We cannot control this and we do not accept liability for this. If you have given third party applications or websites access to your personal information they may, in accordance with their own terms of service and/or privacy policies, retain such information.


7. Security  

If you have questions, concerns, or issues with Meetual, such as reporting another user, please contact us by selecting ‘Report a Problem’ on the Meetual mobile app.


The security of Meetual is very important to us and we will do our best to continually monitor it so that you can just worry about meeting awesome people online.

Our internal security staff continually review our app to find potential threats and prevent unauthorised access to the best of our ability.


Reporting Vulnerabilities

We kindly request all security researchers to discreetly disclose potential vulnerabilities to Meetual via the ‘Report a Problem’ section of the mobile application.
